Hi, welcome to the FIRESTAR website,

We're one of the Souths most experienced cover band and an ideal choice for functions, weddings, parties and corporate events. We play two hours of energetic chart music that will definitely keep the dance floor busy. Our playlist includes a whole range of songs from the past seven decades by a wide variety of major artists, including recent hits to some of the best loved classics. Based in Salisbury we play right across the South of the UK, and are happy to travel to your venue.

The band Includes five very experienced musicians all using the latest hi-tech gear, so we play with some of the best pro instruments, audio and lighting equipment available. This set up allows us to create a superb live sound, brilliant light show and fantastic party atmosphere, which all helps create an impressive focal area at your function, party, wedding or corporate event

Charlene Leverton

Lead Vocal

Charlene or "Charlie" is an exceptional vocalist with a brilliant voice who can really belt out a good tune. She has a fantastic range and is easily able to cover the rock vocals of Walk the Moon's "Shut Up & Dance" and Journeys " Don't stop believing" the disco sounds of Sister Sledge's " We are family" and slick pop vocals of Dua Lipa's "Levitating" or the gentle haunting sound of Adele's "Make you feel my love". Charlie has spent years fronting top Salisbury function bands and brings all this experience to FIRESTAR. She's always great fun, will get your guests up dancing, has a great rapport with any audience and will no doubt have them singing along to a chorus or two before the end of the night, helping create a brilliant party atmosphere at your event.

Charlie uses: Sennheiser Radio Mics,Mackie SRM 450 powered floor monitor and Zoom ipad monitoring.

Trevor Webb

Drums

Trev started playing drums in his teens and has literally been in one band or other ever since. His first few outfit's were rock bands followed by a couple of New Romantic original's bands in the 80's notably Salisbury's "Toucantango" . Trev now enjoys playing the wide variety of chart and dance music that FIRESTAR audiences love. He previously ran top Salisbury function band Innervison and brings all his experience and enthusiasm to FIRESTAR. Trev creates a powerful rhythm section alongside Chris's bass sound, using the awesome ROLAND Flagship TD50x KV Pro V Drum kit, to create a powerful dance beat that'll keep the floor busy throughout the night.

Trevor uses: Roland TD50x KV Pro V Drum kit, Ahead drum sticks, Shure SE 846 In Ear Monitors and Zoom ipad monitoring.

Chris Frampton

Bass Guitars

Chris is a brilliant bass player and has been playing in a wide range of soul, funk and rock bands for over 25 years. He originally trained as a classical cellist, touring in regional orchestras and even appeared on live BBC television whilst at school ! Chris picked up the bass aged 16 teaching himself how to play, which has given him a unique style and groove. He's a a fantastic musician, a really integral part of the band and an essential part of the rhythm section with Trev, helping to keep the dance floor packed and the audience entertained "all night long"... and yes we do play that big Lionel Richie hit.

Chris uses: Stirling Stingray 35 bass, Bogart 5 string bass, Fender Squier Jazz bass, MXR BassDI+, Absolute zero effects pedals, MEE Audio MX2 Pro IEM's and Zoom Ipad monitoring.

Kevin Waterfield

Guitar & Backing Vocals

Kev is a very accomplished guitarist with years of experience playing in many function bands in Salisbury Southampton and the South of the UK . He has many styles of playing under his belt which all help him cover the wide variety of songs that the band play. Kev is also big Queen and therefore Brian May fan who he's managed to meet backstage in recent years and loves playing the guitar solo in our version of "Don't stop me now". Kev also uses a guitar previously owned by Crowded House guitarist Neil Finn, you might even see Kev playing this live on their massive slow hit " Dont dream its over"

Kevin uses: Ibanez guitars, an effects pedal board with various guitar and amp modelling pedals, in-ear monitors and Zoom Ipad monitoring.

Jon Gateley

Keyboards

Jon is a very experienced and natural piano and keyboard player with an ABRSM level 4 Diploma and along with his classical music training, he's also played live gigs for many years. Jon uses some of the latest Pro Korg Nautilus & M Audio keyboard technology to create the myriad of sounds that are required for the well known chart hit and dance music the band play. His keyboard's also allows us to cover a very wide range of songs helping us to create an interesting and diverse live set at any venue we play... excuse the pun, but Jon really is a key part of the band : )

Jon Uses: Korg Nautilus Synth & Wokstation 88, M-Audio Keystation 88 , In Ear Monitors and Zoom Ipad monitoring

Our Equipment

Sound & Lighting

The band use some of the latest music technology but apart from our individual gear, the band have also invested in their own self contained PA System & Lighting set up, utilizing some of the best equipment available to achieve a professional show. For the technical geeks among you this includes:

Sound system: Bose F1 PA System comprising 2x Bose Model 812 mid/top cabs 2x Bose F1 Sub woofer's, with 1 x Mackie SRM450 powered floor monitor, Zoom L20 Twenty channel digital mixing & recording console with individual blue tooth ipad control for personal monitoring. 1 x Sennheiser Radio Mic & receiver and 2x Shure SM58 wired Mic's.

Light Show: 6 x Equinox Par54 LED Stage flood lights, 3 x Equinox LED, lazer scanning disco lights, 2x moving dome up lighters, 2 x fog machines and a variety of other LED lighting effects.
